Thoughts whirled around in his head. Pain and sadness mostly, and a couple twinges of frustration.
“I’m so sorry...”
Why did it have to be like this?
“You’re mad at me, aren’t you?”
If only they weren’t so far apart...
“You probably hate me...”
I didn’t think my heart could ache like this...but still...”Not at all.”
“What...?”
“I could never hate you. Not ever.”
“How could you be okay with this...?”
“Because I love you.”
“But what if I don’t love you, when this is over...? How are you sure I’ll still want to be with you?”
“I'm not.”
“Then why-?”
“I know that your love is the greatest thing I’ve ever felt in my life, and if I’m ever going to gamble in my life, this is the one bet I’ll gladly make.”

This is one of those situations that has no real answer as to why someone acts a certain way...it's simply out of the love they have for someone else.
I have a few more of these situations floating around in my head. Maybe I'll write 'em down, who knows?

You never know when an old story idea will come in handy (I speak from personal experience - Lita and Baqir have been in the works for a while now. The poor couple needs to have their story finally finished!)
